We stayed three nights at this lovely, quiet, and peaceful location in Boolteens, near Castlemaine, Co. Kerry. The easy to find location was just perfect for jaunts into the Dingle Peninsula, Limerick and Ring of Kerry. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable, and had the largest ensuite bathroom of all our B&B reservations. The shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was a delight with great choices, and deliciously prepared food served by one of the many “Marys” of the Murphy family. Although our view from the second floor looked out to the farm buildings, someone placed a beautiful pot of flowers on the roof outside the window which was a lovely surprise. It was a pleasure staying there during our trip and I can highly recommend this establishment to others. For us a much better choice than staying in busy Dingle town or other such locations. This was a calm retreat at the end of each tiring travel day.SSSSS

We were met by elderly Mrs. Murphy who led us up to the rooms. That was all we saw of any staff until breakfast time, when we met one of the daughters and one of the nieces. They were busy, but not too busy to stop and give us suggestions for places to visit. Yes, Torc Falls is spectacular when it's tipping down with rain. Breakfast was good, but the fruit was tinned, the fried eggs were a bit undercooked you can ask for them firmer, and the scrambled eggs appeared to have been batch prepared. Jam was in packets. We'd just come off two gourmet B&B's and had been spoiled dreadfully with homemade everything, including preserves! The scones were ok. As I make my own, they weren't the same novelty as for some of the other travelers. The rooms were well appointed, with plenty of plug sockets, nice tables with room for a laptop, and a 'real' king sized bed by N.American standards. Best sleep I'd had on the trip. Water pressure was week and the sound of the pumps was a bit disconcerting, but again, clean and decently equipped. Plenty of parking out front, easy walking distance of the couple of pubs down the road, and easy access to the Dingle Peninsula. Don't miss the 15 minute drive to Inch Beach - easy access and stunning scenery.

What a wonderful B&B! Very friendly and childfriendly! Our children could watch the 15 cows being milked. Easy access by car to sandy Inch Beach and lots of other great places. We definitely recommend Murphys Farmhouse!SSSSS
